Our new art acquisition! Drew and I got this charcoal sketch by the one and only James Montgomery Flagg. It's titled "Chris" dated Oct, 24 of 25. James Montgomery Flagg is famous for creating "Uncle Sam" the US Army recruiting mascot. It makes me happy nowing that a gay man is the biggest recruiter for the US Army!
It's in our bedroom.

I love it!
I was bidding on Andy Warhol's autograph on eBay the other month but gave up at £80.00. It was only a bit of scrawl on the back of a business card but trust me, I would have bought a HUGE frame for it... It finally went for just £100.00. I could have had something touched by the hand of Warhol for £100.00. I was gutted that I didn't carry on bidding. I thought it would go for at least £750.00. | |

Congratulations. That is awesome. I didn't know anything about the history of the UNCLE SAM artist.

Nice acquisition.
I don't have any artwork, though I do have a couple of rare books. I'm interested in rare maps. There are a couple in particular that I have had my eye on for some time, but I can't justify the expense at the moment. | |
