Last night's ep of LOST

Last night's episode was total SHITE!

They only really revealed one new thing, and only at the end!

Fuckers!!!

They had me sit through that damn show on the edge of my seat, waiting for something to happen, and all they did was have Mike and Sawyer yell at each other and flail about, then repeat the KICKER from last episode (Desmond) while not letting us know what happens!

LOST stresses me the fuck out!!! But I can't stop watching it!

pissed

Anyone else addicted? biggrin

I am addicted.

Last nite's episode was funa dn irritating all at the same time. But, that's Lost for ya!

I don't think the whole "floating in the water" story was done very well though. It seemed that they couldn't decide what was really happening out there and it felt as though a lot of time was wasted.

That being said, I did like the retelling of the hatch entry from Locke's pov and then Kate's. While it didn't really bring us anywhere new I thought it added nice depth to the whole scenario.

Now my question is... WHO THE F IS "HIM"? (as in "are you him?"

Yes, the water scene was poorly executed. I felt like it went in many circles. I guess they had to stretch it out in order to tell the Mike story, but it was irritating nonetheless.

And yeah...it brought a little more perspective to the hatch (like that huge pantry!), but I just wanted to know if Desmond recognized Jack. They could have given us a small bit of information as to their relationship! I'm curious to know if they ever met again, after the incident in the stadium. I imagine that they MUST have - their meeting in the stadium was too casual, I think, for Jack to recognize him immediately - not to mention that they met years ago. I wonder if there is a backstory on their relationship that is coming up!

"HIM" may be some sort of entity Desmond has been communicating with from the hatch? Maybe a supernatural being. I don't think it's Jack; he met Jack before so he would have recognized that Locke is not Jack and thus would not have asked Locke.

Another thing! God, I'm such a nerd...

But the song that Desmond plays is sung by the Mamas and the Papas.

Don't know if this is a clue as to a time reference - everything in the hatch is retro-looking...

The song lyrics are pretty simple and straightforward, but generally express a theme of individualism - doing what you want without caring about what other people think...

i think hurley is "him", given the numbers connection, and the preview for next week showed him ominously walking down the hallway in the hatch...

Problem with such shows is always that the big, reveiling conclusion at the end is crap, so you better not start watching at all.

Sorry, had to spoil it for you! biggrin

I liked the going back and showing Locke and Kate as well. Good sync up there.

I think this is why...to the frustration of the audience...they are taking their time. If they just spilled it all, there would be no mystery as well as the chance that no one would believe the reason.

I am surprised at how much the audience is not appreciating the story telling of Lost.

So we learned quite a few things in last nights episode...

108 is very significant. It is where the clock rotates back after the numbers are punched in. By the way 4+8+15+16+23+42=108. 108 is also finger painted on one of the walls where Desmond lives.

Did you all see that symbol on the wall, clothing, food stuffs and....the shark? I don't think they were adrift for nothing...direction-wise.

Desmond has been there a long ass time. He's also a bit disoriented. He mentioned the "sickness"...but I don't think he's sick.

A-ha! Very perceptive!!!

And this theory coincides nicely with cborgman's, that "him" is Hurley...perhaps Desmond also had a connection to the mental institution in which Hurley heard the numbers. Very interesting.

My partner thinks he is going to be worked into several back stories...though he wasn't in Michael's last night.

What do you guys think of the "udders" Jin was talking about. I think that those are the back of the plane survivors myself.

Remember, in season one the woman sitting alone on the beach. She had her husbands weeding ring. She told Jack that her husband was still alive. Maybe he is with the "others"

I also thnk they are the rest of the plane's survivors, although I don't know why they would be so violent toward Jin. Maybe there is going to be some sort of battle. biggrin

My boyfriend suggested they may turn it into a "Battle Royale" of sorts and people are going to start killing other people. That would be a pretty lame way to go out, though.

I just wanna watch the damn thing all the way through and be done with it...enough of this waiting bullshit. And they CANNOT keep at this show for TOO long - people will get sick of the shit, stop watching, and wait it out until the series finale...it better not turn into a Gilligan's Island drama-style.

That's Rose (I know her name simply becasue I have been championing her to be a regular cast member). Based on all of the clues I have heard and that her "speech" has really resonated with the audience as well as in the retrospective they show her 2ce (along with the speech). I am pretty certain we'll see him (and her) again. Ana Lucia's character pretty much confirms that there are back of the plane survivors.

According to the commentary track on the seaon one dvd, the character of Rose may not return. The actor that plays that role is signed to another contract and could be unable to reprise her role.

Well, Jin speaks NO english. I fear that they haven't had as swell of a time on a golf course as the front of the plane survivors...probably NO doctor or food from the plane. Who knows if they have been as resourseful as the front half. And if they are on the other side of the island...and I think that's the Dark Territory...they could have resorted to a more feral society, and could have encountered the others. I am actually surprised that the front end plane survivors have done so well.

SO...I suspect that Jin may not have been a welcome person to them...I know I'd be skeptical after seeing Ethan.

Oh and I hope this series goes on for a certain length...like 5 seasons would be optimal.

I could be mistaken... I'm going too check tonight.

that would be season 3...WOW. They have thought this that far down. I think though that "working on" probably means "idea roughly sketched out".
