Bernard, even at 22-1 at the time, was nowhere NEAR the fighter he was to become when Roy beat him. The Toney victory was nice though. Ruiz had a belt in that pitiful division though, so while he ain't all that great he still is one of the best in that weak heavyweight division which ain't saying much but hey it was a test for Roy. Even a young Bernard Hopkins was tough, it was Roy's toughest fight up until the first Montell Griffen fight. And remember Roy was still young too, that was his first real test as a pro. All that being said you got to admit Roy is one of the most exciting fighters ever, I hope he does well Saturday against Tarver. Roy was one of the most talented fighters ever, I don't know if he ever had the heart of a champ, but he never really had anyone to test him like so many of boxing's greats did in the past. That's the only knock I have on Roy. Incredibly talented, just not worthy of being mentioned as one of the greatest ever, which I think alot of people put on him too easily. Nice to chat with someone that knows boxing!

He also did it in the Ernie Terrell fight - a 15rd beatdown that Ali could've ended at any time;instead, he chose to punish 'ol Ernie for his insolence. *A bit of trivia: Ernie Terrell's sister, Jean Terrell, became a lead singer for the Supremes after Diana left. 2Night. "Lets Get Ready 2 Rumble!!" Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Tarver wins by unanimous decision. What a terrible fight. Jones didn't look like he even wanted to be there. I think he just kept from getting hit, survived the fight, collected his check and went home.
After three straight losses (2 by knockout), I think it's time for Roy to hang 'em up.

Nice fight Roy.
See my earlier posts, the guy never had any heart, ever. BTW, Tarver had him stumbling in the 11th. I'll add no chin to Roy's description also.

Man, bull shit. Roy was just not himself, playin' around. Roy wasn't even punching, and when he was punching it was low impact. I was just shaking my head most of the fight, especially when Tarver dazed Roy. Sorry to say but Roy is done. Some people think I'm kinda cute

Antonio isn't a great fighter by any means. He's just good enough to beat Roy's ass one last time!
