Bright light, big city movie appreciation thread

Do u like the movie, i mean besides the presence of "good love" in it. I just LOVE it! It remembers me an era of my life when i was exactly living that kinda "mundane-lose" in the artistic & night-clubbing spheres, with lotsa chemicals & all. Though it was sometimes hard, i'll always feel a little nostalgy 4 these years, & the movie make me think of 'em...

I think it really tells the story of this lost boy with talent, realism & a very imaginative narration. Sounds real 2 me, & the whole Coma-baby thing, &... oh, i could write about how i love that damn movie 4 hours !

Have u been thru an era of ur life which looks like this story? Do u like the movie itself? Have u read the book it was adapted from (i haven't yet) & if u did is it as good as the movie?

Or do u think it's crap & i really have poor taste cool

The book is much better than the movie, although the movie captured the whole bOOm time of the eighties very well. I remember going to the cinema to see it. I enjoyed it - but advise you to get the book.
