Alexander Last night I finally watched "Alexander" .... big mistake !!!! I will not say it is the worst movie ever made. But it was horiribly miscast Colin Farrell shows he cannot act at all, and massacres the (already terrible) script with his exaggerated Irish accent. His peroxided hair looks ridiculous - why didn't they just stick a wig on him? The battle sequences are among the worst ever staged in a motion picture, but what really makes it awful is the all-round bad acting. An obese and unrecognisable Kilmer is hammy as Philip of Macedonia, and even Sir Anthony Hopkins overplays the role of the narrator. What on earth was Oliver Stone thinking, casting Angelina Jolie as Alexander's mother when she's only a year older than him? As it is she creates the worst accent I have ever heard !!!! Overall I think Stone deserves the most flak for this unwatchable mess Somebody should buy the film, and burn the negative. Fast. ... One good thing about the film its better than Troy Here I am, you lucky people!

I saw about 10 minutes of it.
It wasnt' too bad, but I kept wondering what the point behind the dialogue was. It seemed thrown together. Plus I had other things to do that day. I wish somebody would do a movie for Emperor Asoka!

The casting of Farrell as Alexander made me not want to see this.
I never will. I have read too much about Alexander to want to see a type like him in the role. Esp one that is so intent on focusing on everything that to me is not the most interesting aspect to the man.

Some of those crazy billion on the South-Eastern Asian peninsula have already currified it, bruv It's watchable and fairly entertaining but a bit too wishy-washy and choppy in places. Could've been a lot better considering the granduer of project and topic. Click my boy "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

To me Asoka is to Alexander what the Buddha is to Jesus--not opposites in any respect, but powerful figures in their own right. But Asoka is largely ignored in the west. :-\

Got about half way through and went to bed, I never do that! It just lacked a little bit of everything that makes a good film. I might get round to finishing it one day. Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!
