He returns...Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 5 Premiere Sunday 9.25 @ 10p HBO This thread is in honor of the funniest show on American television, IMHO. I didn't really get into Curb until its 2nd season and now I'm hooked! I love the documentary style of the show, the high level of improvisation, and the satirical/dry humor. I'm tre excited about Sunday's premiere, I just hope its as funny as last season because Larry David outdid himself. Are there any Curb Your Enthusiasm fans on the org?

i love this show - i have all four seasons on DVD, and will get the next season whenever it comes out. i don't think the 4th season was nearly as good as the previous years, but it's still easily funnier than anything on network television.

wonderful show!
although i kinda preferred the first season to the others...in the 1st he seemed to be more of a stumbling character who was baffled at how he was constantly thwarted by fate and circumstance, whereas later he seemed to become more self-aware and confident and almost bring certain things on himself. I found the former slightly funnier, i guess. Brilliantly written / improvised / whatever, though. BTW, Season 4 hasn't been released on dvd in the UK yet (next week, as it happens), so i'm only up to the 3rd season.

I've only see the show on DVDs I've rented (if you have both chains by you, rent them at Hollywood where both discs count as one rental where Blockbuster breaks them up...bastards!). I thought the second season was only OK but the third season made up for it! Hilarious show. No wonder the network sitcom is near dead (although "My Name is Earl" made me laugh nearly non-stop).

You know, i'm not sure if Season 4 was even shown on TV over here or not. Certainly not on one of the main terrestrial channels, anyway. Maybe on BBC3 or something. I haven't seen a single episode on TV, if it has been on. I must confess I just bought the dvd of the first series because i'd heard such good things, and continued from there... Anyway, i ain't seen a single one, so am very much looking forward to it, and the news that Season 5 is on the way too is just great.

It's good to see that we have some Curb fans on the org. I really love the show, and I've turned a few of my friends onto it. I think it's miles ahead of every comedic show on American TV. It's a breath of fresh air in the time of predictable/formulaic television comedy. Larry David is a comic genius!
