Oh crap...

Does the Gulf Coast really need another Hurricane? I think Texas (minus Galveston) could handle a hurrincane and flooding...but dayum. We're still trying to take care of New Orleanians and now we gotta watch out for ourselves. eek

I hope this doesn't hit us but it looks like it's coming straight for us here in Houston.

huh? there aren't mandatory evacs here - only Galveston so far. We'll see how it goes Thursday. That will determine whether I leave to go to my Dad's in Brenham.

not yet. it's expected to make landfall here Saturday morning. we should start feeling the effects friday though. i'm going to get everything of value out now.

I live in Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Rita is the second hurricane that I have watched this year. Earlier in the year, Emily went 80 miles south of here.
