Does the Gulf Coast really need another Hurricane? I think Texas (minus Galveston) could handle a hurrincane and flooding...but dayum. We're still trying to take care of New Orleanians and now we gotta watch out for ourselves.

I hope this doesn't hit us but it looks like it's coming straight for us here in Houston.

huh? there aren't mandatory evacs here - only Galveston so far. We'll see how it goes Thursday. That will determine whether I leave to go to my Dad's in Brenham.

I live in Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Rita is the second hurricane that I have watched this year. Earlier in the year, Emily went 80 miles south of here.
