i often think that children act up when they are put into situations they are not able to handle - busy malls, loud home environments, overstimulation of all sorts... adults put them in those situations, maybe they are the ones who need a spanking. also, i don't believe that people acting in anger know the difference between a spanking and a beating. it's very subjective. one thing i do know - my father didn't know the difference. i'd like to think that i turned out ok DESPITE the physical abuse i experienced as a child. the cycle most certainly stops with me. i would never lay a hand on a child.  | |
