I am staying at my parents while they are on holiday and their house is known to be haunted.

It was built in 1869, and even builders working on the house, a few years ago have run away from the job, from certain *sightings* of an old woman

It is somewhat stuck out on its own and is an old Vicarage. In the past, dead bodies were brought in here, to be prepared for the funerals.

The back stairs (leading to the servants quarters - one upon a time, had been totally blocked off to save heating on this big old house.) This is where the *lady* has been seen, through a window, so high up, you could not reach it to see out, unless you were standing on very high ladders up the staircase.. my father had that window blocked out. This is where I am sat, in the back back bedroom typing on this comp.

I was too scared to go downstairs last night, cos I dreamt some woman was watching me through the livingroom window, so I shut all the shutters and also all the curtains.

There are many trees swishing from the wind, hitting the old thin windows..
Yesterday I left the house about 8pm to get some milk from the local store, about 1/2 mile away, I was locking the front door, with many keys (bolts inside) takes forever anyway, and a bat flew on my head, ruffling my hair and flew off into the trees in the old church yard, immediately opposite our house.

I hear noises, and things do drop, its pretty damned scary. You may think I am exaggerating, but all the local people around here have feared enetering this house for many years and thought our family mad when we bought it.. it was standing empty for many many years.

nosies, sightings, strange feeling that others are in the room with you, but you are alone, are all pretty normal to me.

I stopped letting the "spooks" get to me....If they know im scared, they make it more difficult to cope with.

How do your parents cope with these strange events????

You can try and make nice with the spirits. Maybe they won't bother you if you treat them with respect. You may want to try talking to them. Most aren't trying to scare but don't really know what they are doing.

Im very close to a spirit that likes to come face to face with you while you are sleeping. There have been many many times when Ive had to cover my face, so that the cold feeling on my face wouldnt bug me while im asleep or trying to fall asleep. He likes to move things around and hit little items. There are times when the "spirits" that surround my family like to play with the living. If you dont make a big deal, they have their fun and go away....

I ran downstairs, looked out the window, stayed there for about 8-10 minutes, and no one was there
