My favorites are Ray, Unleashed and another one my mind is drawing a blank for. I can't think of the worst right now because I haven't been to the theatre in a while. confused

Once in a while I will go to a theatre, but mostly wait until the movies come out on rental that ways it's cheaper to see smile

True, but the action movies are best to see in a theatre. There is one by my house that has these huge couch like seats and they stay open late. My aunt, son and I go in our pj's to watch a movie like we are at home and then go home and get in bed! It sounds crazy but a lot of folks do that. It is just so comfortable there! lol

Have you ever been to a drive in movie theatre? It is a cultural thing. It sounds crazy but some theatres do that to get families to do a little late night movie watching during the summer when the kids are out of school.

Sheesh, some folks are so uptight! lol

I totally enjoyed FF. Not a GREAT movie by any means, but a totally enjoyable popcorn flick.

By default, Episode III is my favorite move this year. I'll have to think a bit to decide what has been the 'best' in my opinion though.

As for worst, in spite of it's awesome use of suspense throughout the film, the ending of War of the Worlds was so inexcuasbly lame that it made WOTW the worst movie I have seen this year.

Nothing much happened in Fantastic Four. The fact that I didn't loathe it with a passion is why I'm calling it the worse. Too much build up for too few superhero fights. I don't know why people would bother to make such a dull, uninspired film. I'd rather it'd been absolutely awful by way of going all wrong, but instead it ended up being awful by going nowhere in particular.

well said, that was my EXACT beef with it also. Poor acting, WAAAAAY too much character development, they tried to fit in about 4 different plots from the comics, and just for the record, they ruined Doctor Doom as a character, barf

yeah, I agree that Dr. Doom was rather lame in the movie.

lol

I think I was just so taken by Chris Evans that I ignored all the massive story flaws

Well, I liked it. nana

Although I can't say I was blown away by it in any way, I was entertained by it. The characters were faithful to the Stan Lee & Jack Kirby creations and I liked the way in which Doctor Doom's origin was tied into their origins and the plot. And they had a good rationale behind why all four of them ended up together in the Baxter Building. biggrin

Definitely the best superhero flick of the year. woot!

In two words: Katie Holmes. lol

I see Batman like Frank Miller: A sexually repressed psychopath. nod

I don't think a villain that has to drug his victims into being scared in order to appear scary is scary. hmph!

And I think the plot was better suited for a James Bond movie. biggrin

Interesting. Cilian Murphy's character and performance were my favorite things in this movie.

And, I managed to just ignore Katie Holmes. She was the require romantic interest, so I just tuned her out smile

The bumper crop of great fall movies has yet to visit my neighborhood cinema (I expect Capote, Walk the Line, A History of Violence will end up on my list somewhere), but of what I've seen this year:

Best - Constant Gardener, Grizzly Man, Crash
Worst - Venom, xXx: State of the Union
Lost Opportunity (coulda been a lot better) - Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
