Dalton house – at the end of my street (and my street is named after it) Our house was built for servants quarters to Dalton House. Its nickname is Bleak House, as it is believed to be the house that provided Dickens with inspiration for his novel. Now an interior design showroom. And finally Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, one of two claimants to be the oldest pub in Britain dating back to the 8th century.
