WICHITA, Kan. -- Friday, April 26, marks the 5th anniversary of one of the most significant natural disasters to hit Kansas in recent times. On that date in 1991, there were 3 violent tornadoes on the ground at one time, 2 in south central Kansas, and a third in northern Oklahoma. In an average year only about 20 violent tornadoes occur across the entire United States! In the wake of these storms, 20 were killed, over 300 injured, and around $300 million dollars in property damage.
