I see these old Fox lineup Martin and Living Single Appreciation Threads, so I decided to creat my favorite show of the old Fox lineup New York Undercover.

Season 1: In this season, it focus on two detectives J.C. Williams and Eddie Torres their lives on the streets and their relaxation at nightclub natalie's. JC is also trying to be a good father to his son, "G", who is going through the motions of growing up and becoming a teenager. The one thing that he is striving to keep is his relationship with his girlfriend, Sandy Gill. Unfortunately, Danny Cort ended up murdered Sandy and the unborn baby by the season's ending and also that he stabbed J.C. with a beer bottle. Meanwhile Eddie is also dealing with his family troubles and issues with his serious girlfriend Gina. Both Eddie and J. C. work under Lt. Virginia Cooper, a mother and wife who doesn't take any hassle from anyone. She does what she can to look out for her detectives and never puts them on a case they couldn't handle.

Season 2: In this season, a new character has joined the team. Detective Nina Moreno (Lauren Velez) is a young Puerto Rican who was introduced as Eddie's new partner due to J. C. being in the hospital because of his close encounter with death. As she struggles to be a good cop, she also tries to earn respect from Eddie. As for J.C., he is recovering from his wounds caused by his enemy who also killed Sandy. J.C. is once again finds himself struggling to put his life back together and dealing with the loss of Sandy, and can only relieve his pain by getting back on the streets. For Eddie, he tries to get his friendship back with a distant J.C., he is fighting his feelings for Nina, and helps his father who is dying of AIDS. By the season's ending, Nina was shot and the bullet was meant for Eddie. And rumor had it that Lauren Velez wanted to leave the show but then changed her mind. That explained why the cliffhanger fans pondered will Nina live or die?

Season 3: Jonathan LaPaglia joins the cast as Detective Tommy Macnamara, an Irish/Italian cop with a know-it-all attitude and a distinctive personality, which doesn't go well with the team, especially J.C. Eddie and Nina goes through many obstacles in their relationship, especially when Nina is trying to recover from a gun shot wound she got last season. Eddie is determined to make it last and asks Nina to marry him; which she accepts. Nina is also going through the process of trying to get her daughter, whom she gave up for adoption, back into her life. While dealing with that, for a while she starts to question her future as a cop. While Eddie is learning of these new secrets about Nina, he deals with his father's death (or suicide), and unfortunately meets an untimely death by the season ending by revengeful Jordan.

Season 4: I tuned out basically this horrible season because I don't like the changes and also that I was mad that Dick Wolf killed Eddie and fired Michael. But I do remember is that j.c and Nina formed a romantic relationship and that by the final episode Nina and Eddie's killer Jordan had a standoff in a woman's prison while Nina worked undercover and Nina and Jordan fought and then Nina killed Jordan.

Due to the Season's 3 shocker of Eddie's and Tommy's death and the departure of Lt. Cooper, me and the fans started to lose interest in the show. Ratings slowly started to go down and the show didn't last beyond the 4th season. Still, to this day, the show remains to be one the best show that will be missed. And also that season 1-3 were the most memorable.

Good news is that if you have Direct TV you can able to watch the old lineup. Martin and coming soon New York Undercover on TV One and Living Single on Oxygen and it will be great if TV One add Living Single. Long Live Thursday Fox Lineup!

I used to watch it sometimes.

didn't care much for the show but it had a kick ass theme by Mtume.

I use 2 live 4 that show!!! I loved Eddie Torres(Michael De Lorenzo). I followed his career since he was on FAME. I have almost all of the showz on tape(how old is that?). It was n xcellent show....that'z why they took it off!!! Can't have shit!! I really liked leiutentant 2,she was tight(her character). People KNEW not 2 call me on Thursday nites @ 9pm 4 about 3 years straight(now that'z addiction,huh?) Later on 0)+>

I loved this show! I loved the music performances at the end of every episode.

I like Michael Delorenzo but my interest for him is wearing off because he haven't done that much since he done Resurection Blvd. Maybe when his movie comes out next year called Nice Guys, my interest for him returns.

Also that I hated when his character got killed off and I was denial of Michael being fired that I watched the first episode of the so-called new and improved fourth season hoping that Eddie Torres returns and when he didn't then eventually I tuned out.

You have shows on tapes you mean from Fox airings? I hope so then that the case I want to talk to you about that. I preferred to contact with someone who had the original airings cuz the sydination ones just edited some scenes.

I was in high school when New York Undercover was on and my friends used to referred to Michael as being my husband.

ALso when Michael was fired, I was suprised that many fans were outrage of that and I always had the impression that Malik had a larger fanbase. Guess I was wrong. I heard that they let go of Michael because his fanbase was smaller then that the case why did many people stopped watching once Michael was fired?

I was so damn happy and surprised when TVOne starting showing commercials for reairing it. I will most definitley be watching yet again...aww the memories. I remember i'd watch and then the next day at school we'd talk about what happened and our opinions on it. I remember I had a picture of JC and Eddie in my locker!!! I lived for those guys back in my middle school days...

those episodes with Ice-T on them were the bomb. I have both of those on tape. Montell Jordan was singing on one of those.

i am working on getting direct tv and i am glad that tv one is going to reair the show. they got martin. now all they need is living single.

Ice-T did pulled it off really well and I like those episodes as well. I got impression that he and creator Dick Wolf hitted it off well and Ice-T had starred in players and now he is doing Law and Order both shows done by WOlf.

Also I just like any scene that Eddie appeared on.

oh yes i couldn't agree with you more...Eddie was the sexiest Latin guy I had ever scene in a tv show (no jimmy smits didn't do it for me). JC's lips were always noticably chapped, that really turned me off about him, that and he was angry almost all the time, especially after T killed his fiance.

This used to be my favorite tv show when I was growing up. Hands down. It was sorta like Miami Vice for my generation.


This show was the bomb. Malik Yoba is still the man!

Well Michael Delorenzo is hot and all but I believed Jon Seda (who played as Chris Perez on Selena and Chino on I like it like that with Lauren Velez) is the hottest latin that I see on tv show since he played on Homicide while Michael done NYU see my avatar?

I always watched this show when it was on. At the time, maybe I was Prince obsessed but I always thought Michael De Lorenzo looked like Prince, a latin Prince mind you but mostly with the Emancipation era haircut.

Speaking of Prince, Michael happened to be a big fan of his and he named one of his cats after Prince. Also Michael had even met and talked to Prince briefly before when Prince had that Emancipation concert and that he wanted Pricne to appear on the show as one of musical guests and according to him, Prince was considering to do it but it never happen.
