I feel the same way MarieLouise I don't think i'll ever dread my birthday (well at least I hope so!) it'z like this part of me dat will alwayz kinda remain!! I LOVE my birthday. I love the month it'z in (September) I love da weather dat manifestz around it (here it'z beautiful beautiful spring ) and i swear dat everyone else knowz im inwardly gettin excited (if i'm not goin around like a big kid sayin 'it'z NEARLY my birthday!! ") age never scarez me, and my attitude has alwayz been 'bring it on!' ... So my mood is very light and effervescent and happy.

While I might go out with my boyfriend or do something in the evening, I've established a tradition where I take a day out around my birthday and go hiking in the same spectacular area through forest near ocean each year. Therefore I work out my moods in solitude and get the opportunity to contemplate. I look forward to it now and it soothes me. My birthday is next week!

As I just had my birthday (and thus might have been one of the people who inspired this thread) here's my contribution:
I like my birthday, very much so . although I don't like getting older and I actually feel a lot younger than I am. The day before I usually feel a little bit shy as I know everybody will call me the next day, but when it happens and the phone rings and everybody congratulates me it's just a very nice feeling to be remembered once again to have people who love you . And of course getting nice presents by people who love me isn't bad either . In the years after my dad and my aunt (who I always had a much closer relationship with than with my mom) had died my birthdays have been very, very sad for me and I felt completely alone, though I had caring friends, but it just wasn't the same as the 2 people I had loved most had gone, so these days I enjoy my birthday and appreciate that I am living a happy life right now . The only thing that really hurts me each year is that my mother always has presents for me that I don't like at all, and she knows that it will happen again, but still gives me something she knows in advance I won't like . That shows me that she just doesn't care if I enjoy her presents or not, but at least this year she remebered my birthday, there had been years she did not . But my lovely boyfriend always gives me an extra present to make up for my mom's present to make me overcome my bad feelings

After about 27/28 I have been miserable, I am just not bothered, I just hope it will pass like anyother day, but then I am sad if nobody acknowledges it!!

talking 'bout birthdays.........now y'all know that mine has been on the 12th...(hooooow cooooome??? ...just kidding!)....i can say that on my birthday i'm usually sad bcuz i keep thinking about all the things that are not right in my life...#1 not having met Mr. Right yet and not having real friends around....i know that i'm still young and that i should think that there are people who have less,who have nothing compared 2 me...that i should think positive.....and so,because this year i had a LOVELY birthday (also because THERE ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE HERE thanx again ),one of my purposes will be 2 be more positive!!!

I'm turning 40 october 26th but I had my party last saturday! It was great!

I usually don't want to be bothered, I'm not very happy about most occasions anymore. But I like when my children make a fuss about it, it's cute.
