what's your mood on your birthday?

These birthdaythreads make me wonder... who else gets moody on his birthday?

My birthday is the only day I never feel older, but always as whiny as a child. I want my chair decorated (it never happens), I want a surprise-party (never happens), I want lots of friends thinking about me and loving me. It's never what I expect it to be. lol Most of the time I give a big party the same week and this has always the opposite effect...then I'm all in tears and emotional, surprised about having so many people who care about me.

neutral And another thing, on the day itself I never think "God I'm getting old". On the contrary, I'm still saying "almost 24" when people ask me how old I am. my birtday is in October and I've been saying "almost 24" since May. It just feels like everyone's birthday is so much earlier. cry

God, I'm stupid. neutral

Birthdays have never been a big thing for me.

Everyday for me is a celebration, and I truly try to live my life that way.

I love birthdays nod I think it's your special day each year and it's a celebration of who you are... as far as age goes every year I keep saying "I love being this age" lol I'm 30 in March and even though that's such a bizarre thought I can't wait! woot!

It's my mom's bday tomorrow too, I remembered the card woot!

I want people to forget my bday, I'm uncomfy with that kind of attention. Usually I succeed in making people forget giggle

Birthdays are just another day to me. I stopped trying to make any sort of deal of it after I got through my middle teens. No one else cares that much anymore, really.

The only one I was upset over was my 25th. But most of the time I love them and celebrate all month!

Having a birthday is better than the alternative, so celebrate it and enjoy it to the max!

When it was my 18th birthday, I wanted to give a party. But my boyfriend at the time told me he had two great surprises for me, so he didn't let me plan anything. That night he took me to a house-warming party of people I never saw before. Everyone was drunk. He became very agressive and I had to drag him home, carry him, fight him, because he was still convinced of the fact he could still drive his home. The next day I asked him what the second suprise was supposed to be. He said "Oh, that's right, I bought you some strawberries, they're in the fridge. I completely forgot because I was wasted, hrmph wasn't I?"

eek

Plain horrible. Plus he broke up with me ten days later, after me making me move to the city he lived in.

lol It's a great city though.

Never heard of it. I hope for you that tells you more about me than about this place.

Sounds rather girly though.

It's just an old, historic town on the Licking River in northern Kentucky. There's absolutely nothing there except a Food Lion, Walmart, and some houses and apartments. I had a lovely apartment in the center of town though. It was my first place. I even fulfilled my dreams of hanging up a picture of Elvis from the 1968 Comeback Special in my living room.

It's my 26th tomorrow and I must say that I do not really like marking getting older.. I still feel 18!!

I like the fact that everyone comes together to celebrate the fact that I am alive though lol

I really feel schezophrenic about that aspect at the moment. I'm teaching at a new school, and whenever I enter the room for teachers someone is holding me and sending me out, thinking I'm 16.

But my students think I'm almost 30 (I'll be 24 next month wink ) When I said something about a party I went to in 1996 (had their age at the time) one boy said, completely serious, "Shit, were parties cool at that time as well???"

My mood had been pretty blah on my birthdays. I think I actually "did' somehting a few years back. I like to celebrate it, yet feel strange asking my friends to join me in celebration. I feel as though I am obligating them. I have kept it low key so it doesn't bother my friends. Also my partner is VERY inept when it comes to planning things like my birthday. It's pretty much we do what I decide and plan and get together. I think that's one of the reasons I keep my BD on the downlow. All the planning behind it. I am very humble about the whole thing. I would love for someone just to DO my birthday once without having me have to plan it out.

they used to be a low time...
but i try to not dwell on another year passing - they are passing too quickly to keep bemoaning them.

it's always nice to be remembered - but then i feel guilty for not remembering the birthdays of those who remember mine lol...
now i try to do something for myself as a little present to me present
