Love this film. Plus "king of new york" is one of the catctiest songs ever written, good nostalgia





"tap" (1988)

A lovely lil' film. Lots of good tap dancing by Gregory hines and a young savion glover. Also I think its the last thing sammy davis jr ever did. The city dancing scene is quite magical.





Love this film. The lighting, escapism, the naivety (perfect for kids), its awesome. (shame the poster is so shit)

all modern musicals.

all quite charming though.

i'm not big on musicals. i like 'hedwig' and i like 'rocky horror'.

i could probably get into some gilbert & sullivan if i heard the older recordings.

i don't like how musical theater performers sing. it annoys me. i think that's why i like rock musicals, because the actors don't have to sound so forced and trained and whatnot. i know it takes a lot of skill to sing in a proper musical theater style, i just don't care for it.

I know you don't like British cinema, but because you're a Brit I feel compelled to mention the star Jessie Matthews. Everheard of her? The movies I've seen of her were pretty good. I like musicals that also have incredible dance numbers.

It is a black mark on my gay card...but I really don't like em. I like VERY FEW if any.

I did appreciate...

Hedwig, Chorus Line (that one was good), & Chicago. I don't really consider Purple Rain nor Grafitti Bridge to be musicals.

And I don't wanna get into Annie as I will NEVER be able to see it the same way after Serial Mom.

I dont like dancers as such. More about choregoraphy, but gregory hines is underated.

Oh yeah, i like "all that jazz", but "caberet" is very overated. And way to gay

I have to say, I hate musicals. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.....

I thought you were a dancer? Cabaret is a good story. Fosse and Liza were on point in the movie. The Night Porter with my dream Brit lover Charlotte Rampling delves into cabaret and the nazis.

if we consider 'xanadu' a musical, then i'll count 'dancer in the dark', 'umbrellas of cherbourg' and 'absolute beginners'.

I loved that Norm MacDonald sketch on SNL, with the West-Side-Story-like setting. Norm would say something and they would all respond in song, with choreography and Norm would be like, "How'd you guys just improvise that song and unison dancing?! That's really weird".
