WOULDN'T IT BE AWESOME...

...If there was a way we could take away all time differences and physical distance to travel immediately to see loved ones whenever and wherever?

Teleportation, it isn't happening. I tried to invent this form of transport on many drunken occasions as a student. Just want to be out of this closed pub and safely home in bed, I don't want to stand in Trafalgar sq waiting for a stinking night bus!!

It would indeed be awesome, and I'm working on it at the moment. biggrin

The key is in particle tagging and zero point energy. All theory at the moment of course, but in theory, it works!

I just want to get home from work instantaneously, thereby avoiding the smelly horrible stinking overcrowded overheated metal can that they laughingly call a train.

Well then, pop over to Ben and ask him to fix the search function, please!

That zero point energy is a bitch, you just can't nail that sucker down. I think we managed the particle tagging on one over indulgent evening following a brief discussion on why the bubbles in a Guinness glass go down instead of up. Damned if I could remember how we did it the next day though.

His refusal to fix it is based simply on a willingness to piss us all off. He admitted this under hypnosis. Nice guy that Ben. smile

Ah! You can't teleport from Scotland. It's punishment for being Scottish. Besides, you have sea beasts and year long winter weather. Be grateful for such blessings. smile

nod It certainly is. I can't even figure out the Guinness bubbles, every time I get to my eighth pint, I go all quantum.

nod They are not the bubbles in my glass that I am seeing going up, but this glass in another persons hand in another pub, in a parallel universe.

The physical distance would be eliminated, but the time difference would still remain...I mean, you better not be teleporting into my livingroom at 3:00 in the morning..

You mean to say I've spent the last 20 years of my life drinking all that Guinness and the bubbles belonged to somebody else ? disbelief The things we do for science.
