to get a tooth pulled. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers today so that everything goes well. It shouldn't be too bad, since they're going to sedate me for the whole procedure.

Thanks, I'm not too worried about it, I've had abdominal surgery which was more involved. Compared to that, getting a tooth pulled should be a piece of cake.

I should hope so!! Which tooth? I had the second from the back (wisdoms not included) which is one of the biggest ones. the root on this baby, im not kidding!! so there was some heave-ho ing. the gaps closed itself up now, wierd. was about 5 years ago right enough!

Yeah I had four teeth removed before I got braces too, but I was asleep for it. I remember before they put me to sleep, I was crying because I was scared stiff that I would not wake up. You're braver than I am to be able to stay awake for the whole thing.

As a follow up, the extraction went fine. The doctor gave me a combination of Valium and some other stuff I've never heard of, so I didn't remember a thing. Heck, I don't even remember the ride home from the doctor's office. I stayed at my parent's house for awhile, and slept a part of the day (the Valium really knocked me out). I went home last night since I was feeling better and because I didn't have any of my stuff with me (we weren't expecting my having to stay with anyone after the procedure was done, but the doctor recommended it, so we did). I'm not in much pain, just some sensitivity, of course, where the tooth was taken out. I've been taking Advil for the pain and rinsing my mouth out with warm salt water, which seems to be doing the trick pretty well.

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread, asked me about it in the chatroom, or thought about me and/or kept me in your prayers. It is much appreciated.
