no, because some people honestly may not have the money to donate. and that's what i mean. if, in good conscience, a person can honestly say, "i can't afford to help," then they've made a decision in good conscience and god bless them.

And even if they DO have the means to donate and don't.... no one should have to justify that....

well, again, that's between a person and his/her conscience. other people's consciences need to butt out. lol

Not to mention the fact that people are concerned, and have every right to be, that money they do donate might not reach the intended parties.

I wont give because I have £10 to last 3 weeks.

I might consider it when I get my student loan, but that might get overtaken by

the debts i cant afford to pay this month..... neutral

I have a friend who's from alabama/ lousiana or some shit, and he co-owns a "charity" and asked me to donate, but when i went to the website all i saw was if i donate such and such an amount, that all the victims get is a bottle with a little note in it saying "god bless you" "keep your head up" and shit. and he expected me to donate and got pissed when i told him i wouldn't and that it looked like a scam. If i could, i seriously would.

What a lame question. Wouldn't it be easier and less of a guilt trip to ask who IS giving? Most people I know are struggling and can't shell out cash. That's not to say they don't want to or are giving their time or giving in another way. I'M BROKE, however I perform and am doing a benefit for the victims on the 23rd. It's what I can do. Why not revert that question to Bill Gates or Oprah (I know she was in the water, but sign the check bitch!). What a lame question.

I'm not going to donate, and I'll tell you why:

I make between $418 and $500 on every paycheck. I get paid the 15th and 30th of each month. And I'm going to keep EVERY SINGLE PENNY of it for myself and my own selfish usage of it and paying my bills.

People ought to be donating to me. rolleyes

Of course, now and then I feel a twinge of wanting to share my money. So I had no problem donating an hour's wages for the cause on my thread about how much money you really make....

I'll let you kind people give to the hurricane folk.

If i had extra money i would donate ,basically i have so many bills and rent to pay.
As someone said before let Oprah ,Bill Gates ,Donald Trump and all the other rich motherfuckers dip into their bank accounts ,they have more money then they can spend in a lifetime.
If i had it i would.

I gave some little kids having a Katrina lemonade sale all my change yesterday, and took 2 hours of buses ferries and subways each way to drop off baby clothes, toys, packing materials, etc. to a drive in Manhattan. But I'm 16. I have literally NO money of my own. neutral I can't write out a check, or use a credit card to donate. I wish I could help more, I feel like I should. sad

I won't and the reason for that is that I think the US government should help these people. That's their duty and it's not like they don't have the resources to. They just got different priorities. Well, maybe it's time for that to change.

prayer, extra clothes, canned goods and money are all good ways of donating....
