English teachers: The use of the word "itch" Can an english professor school me on this. It has always irritated me to death when I heard some say that they are "itching" themselves, or that they are "itching an itch"
I was always under the impression that one can be "itching" to do something...but not "itching" something in particular. like am I able to itch myself. Or am I supposed to scratch myself. [Edited 9/6/05 11:36am] | |

If i feel itchy. I needa scratch whatz makin me itchy right. And if i'm feelin itchy i never say im scratchin and itch, nor do i sayz dat i'm itchin and itch. I usually give my self a good scratch goin 'ohhhh itchaitchaitchaitchaitcheee arghhh!!!' But dat ofcourse is a different story.No hablo espanol,no!
