I wouldn't say I have any clinically diagnosible phobias, but I do know I have somewhat undue anxiety over spiders and being outside at great heights.

Join Toastmasters.

huh? neutral

If you hate public speaking then the best way to get over it is to join Toastmasters, it's a worldwide organisation open to everyone over the age of 18, and it's purpose is to help people develop their communication skills particularly with regard to public speaking. More info at www.toastmasters.org. I joined some years ago after a friend asked me to be best man at his wedding. Remembering the only other time I'd been forced to speak to an audience, and how petrifying it was, I decided I needed some help getting over what is in reality an irrational fear, so I joined Toastmasters. I have now quite happily delivered about 20 speeches to audiences ranging from 40 to 200 people, am much more vocal in meetings etc, and no longer have any qualms about public speaking.
