It's too bad he boned Soon-Yi, 'cause there is so much of value in his work (especially the stuff he did during the Mia years, ironically enough) and people will kinda dismiss him out of hand now. He's been pandering quite a bit since the scandal, though.

I enjoy about half of them. He's very Prince-like in his output ,averaging about 1 movie a year for 3 decades.

Outside of his movies, the documentary...

...Wild Man Blues was a nice view of his musical pursuits.

I don't think I could stand Woody Allen in real life, but I love some of his movies. His classic neurotic persona was cool when it was emblematic of the quirky individualism so celebrated in the late sixties and throughout the seventies, as well as of the new "sensitive" man that emerged during that time. Alas, as in real life, neurosis can only be interesting for so long before it starts looking pathologically self-involved. This was all too clear in the documentary they made about his jazz ensemble going to Europe -- there you can see for yourself that the neurosis and the phobias are no act, and they are far less entertaining when they are not part of a motion picture.

Yes, one of the few from the post-Mia era that I would rank up there with his best.

you guys caught the "cameo" by a mia look-alike at the end of 'deconstructing harry', right? it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot, but at the end, when he's confronted with the room full of all his characters at the university honors function, there's a really super quick cutaway shot to a mia look-alike surrounded by asian children. kinda creepy, but i thought it was an interesting comment...
