so, part of the reason i upped and moved to the big apple was Mr. Deeds... he was doing so good and living drug free for so long, and then took a trip to go scuba diving in mexico, and came back loaded. i realized i couldn't fix him, and he wasn't about to repair his own circuits, so why not move?

so freaking glad i did.

last weekend we went to wigstock, and got invited to an afterparty. went back to the apartment, and while chris and ryan changed, i laid down and fell asleep. ryan woke me up, and asked if i was gonna go to the party.

i said no and rolled over.

but i couldn't get back to sleep, and got up, threw on some party clothes, and jumped in the cab.

party was okay, but not my scene, so i went up on the roof, and was just looking at the manhattan skyline.

and then tommy introduced himself.

he's 29, an aries, and a lawyer. we hit off immediatly, and i laughed, cause he is the first NATIVE new yorker i have met after being here almost a month now. and lord, does his accent give it away! it cracks me up. he's a queens boy, and says "GET IN DA FOOKIN CAHHR" instead of "get in the car, please" and really says "fugghedabouit" with no trace of irony.

and what really cracks me up is how polite and demure he gets when talking to me, limiting his swearing, and talking softly, but then he'll turn to one of his friends and start talking a voice one volume tic from the sonic boom and swearing up a storm.

it's so freaking cute.

and he's such a gentleman.... the bastard.

our first date, he took me to a piano bar, and i got way too drunk, and tried to get him to come home with me, but he wouldn't saying "it's not that i don't want to, if you could read my mind right now, you'd never talk to me again... but i like you enough to want to wait and build something first."

and he's very protective of me. our first date and again last night, i had guys coming up and trying to hit on me, and i would grab him, and cling to him to subtley express that i am dating him, and he gets between me and them and drives the point home when my subtle cling is too subtle.

here's to hoping...
