Preston Sturges Tribute

I thought I'd see if there are any fellow Preston Sturges fans out there. He's a director from the late 30's early 40's. He made critically acclaimed screwball comedies. Maybe you might have seen one of his movies..

Christmas in July
The Lady Eve (with the wonderful Barbara Stanwyck)
Palm Beach Story
Miracle of Morgans Creek
Sullivans Travels

He won the first Acadamy Award ever given for Best Original Screenplay for the script. He went on a creative streak unparalleled in the history of film, writing and directing six masterpieces and one that should have been. The Lady Eve falls into the top 100 movies of all time.

Funny..that one gets mentioned a lot. Though I don't recall much of it other that the gorgeous Veronica Lake.

Miracle of Morgans Creek was my favorite "His last name was...Ratzywatsky...or maybe it was Ritskywitzky" lol "Oh Norville...you shouldn't have kept me out so late!"

I just watched the Lady Eve Last night. I forgot how funny that was "Oh Look! he knows card tricks!"

That's the least fav of the above mentioned, though the whole setup is funny as hell.

Palm Beach story: When the dogs get lose on the train...that's like the funniest scene ever.

Don't love it like others, I don't like Barbra in comedies much. Not a huge Henry Fonda fan either but they had chemistry in this one.

Oh crap lol When she's off to bed...and she heard the gun club coming for her and they get into the bottom compartment! And the constant shooting up of their car on the train. I also loved Mary Aster who is probably the fastest talker on the planet. "Nitx! Toto Nixt!"

I think it's the only movie I have seen her in. They were good in it. I like how the two of them were played out.
