The Curiosity of Fish

Fish are unusual things to keep as pets I find. They certainly don't do much except swim about. You don't get the love as you would from a dog or cat. I'm sure they lead a lot more exciting life than we're led to believe.

Have you ever seen a fish do something crazy? What do you think really goes on in that 3 second memory span of theirs?

I dont personally believe that fish have only a 3 second memory span,, cos if that were true how come my fish line up at the front of tank at exactly 8am for breakfast never any earlier, they also know when im going to give them their tea...

nod It was proven a couple of years ago that fish can actually be trained, so they have longer memories than previously thought.

I have inherited some fish in a pond and they all come swimming towards me if I shake their food. I think it's quite cute.

Unfortunately they don't strictly speaking "remeber" to come to the side of the tank, it is behavioral (pavlovian, kind of) and is not a mark of inteligence or memory.

However, their memory is a bit longer than the believed 3 seconds lol
