it was only down 3/8ths of a tank but announced one station that had lower prices (8 cents/liter cheaper...)so i went to fill... $49 later...!!! and that was only for 3/8ths of a tank 97.9cents/litre x 3.785411784 liters to a US gallon = $3.70 (what i paid) 105.9cents/litre = $4.01 (what i would have paid anywhere else) 111.9cents/litre = $4.24 (what we will be paying tomorrow) edit... actually... today gas is selling for 119.9cents/litre = $4.54 [Edited 9/1/05 11:15am] here in Saint John. New Brunswick, where the IRVING refinery is in my backyard...its 129.9 a litre....equal to $4.92 a gallon. It's friggin' ridiculous! I wonder what this will do to all the monster truck and SUV owners... I mean, I'm bitching about filling my Jetta's tank... what must their costs be like? P.S. I'll bet the oil companies are laughing all the way to the BANK! More bitching edit. [Edited 9/1/05 13:21pm] VOTE....EARLY

Right - I heard a truck driver on the radio say that his transit company might fold - they cannot afford the gas and will lay people off. Also - they will charge more for transit to offset the gas hike and then the merchants charge us more for goods... it's a domino effect. VOTE....EARLY

The gas companies have become so predictable that if a Walmart burned down I'd be, mannnnn there go the gas prices again!
They had to think of some excuse summer is over. Although in all reality the oil dereks are shut down. FACT: In Georgia right now it is $5.80 a gallon!

Yeah they did go up to $5.87 in my neighborhood Stockbridge and Jonesboro, GA! 2 gas stations were trippin!!! The news cameras and helicopters we all over it! Even today!! The only reason I was out was... my mom scared me and told me to go and get gas ASAP on Wed. because the gas stations were going to close the pumps at 5pm because they were going to run out of gas! Guess what time she called....4:48pm! I went to Sam's club and the lines were CRAZY and the went riding around trying to find another gas station with short lines and gas under $3. I passed a $4.99 station, $3.69 , and the two $5.87 station. Finally found $2.89 and a pretty short line. But I did all that for nothing because the gas is still flowing here, just a little more expensive! FYI! The stupid gas stations might be fined $5000.00 for jacking up the price. One station said that they did it "so people wouldn't use up all their gas!" YEAH RIGHT!!! Well, now I go on www.atlantagasprices.com just to see who's trying to bend us! They might have your state on here, give it a try!! Peace & Love! Can't think straight edit!!! [Edited 9/1/05 21:36pm]

I drive a ford explorer with a V6 and I'm thinking I have to sell it. I just don't think I can afford 200+ dollars a month in gas.
I can't stand this...I feel like they have us by the balls () so to speak. The only thing I'm hopefull for is that this opens our eyes to how dependant on oil we really are and maybe just maybe something good will come out of this. Grrr! and you know these prices are spiking because of Katrina but everyone (not you guys..just in general)seems to be forgetting that they were on a steady incline prior to the storm.
