Anyone own a Thinkpad?

Someone gave me a Thinkpad...yes, I have friends like that! lol

It's a X20, type 2662. Problem is it have a DVD drive but won't play DVDs. Plays CDs fine, though. Is there something I can buy or download to get it to play DVDs?

Thanks guys as always. biggrin

It could be a software issue where you don't have the proper codec for playing DVDs. I recenty reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything, but hadn't installed one particular DVD player which includes the codec in it. I couldn't get my DVDs to play until I instaled that program. Windows Media Player did not work with DVDs until then, either. You'd think they would have those built into WMP by now. confused

BTW, the program I have is MSIDVD which I received from a friend of mine. I'm not sure if you can download that or not. I know there are other titles out there that you can get, but most must be purchased if they include the codec. Others are just players that utilize an existing codec already on your system.
