Does anybody use Nero for cd burning?

I'm not liking this program that came with my computer. There is not manual and I can't figure out how to rip one song and not the whole album. Anybody have a clue?

How do I rip one song and create a file with different songs to burn on one cd?

I'm not sure if I remember....but there should be a list of check marks next to to the traks...un-check the ones U don't want...save it to disc...then make a playlist....drag it to the appropriate place...and burn.....

...or skip all of that...download iTunes and have it look for all your music...then burn it using that.

i use realplayer to rip my songs to 'my library' then i open nero umm....i think its under "CD...burn images to disk" and i click "add" and import my files from realplayer to burn...i think....its all mindless to me now. a lot of the time i use RecordNow to burn my cd's...its much more user friendly...but i always use Nero to burn DVDs

Anxiety

i've been using nero for most of the year now, and it takes a bit to get used to, but once you've gotten used to it, i promise you, it's a great program.

there's a "dummies guide"-type book about using nero that you can get from amazon.com (i think barnes & noble's web site has it cheaper) - it really doesn't have a lot of in depth secrets, but it's a helluva lot better than any support documents that come with the software.

You may not have come across Orger Nero then. It was a joke.

Which for all intents and purposes is probably one of the best out there. Super simple...even 9s could operate it.

I use Nero to burn CDs, I love it! Haven't used a lot of the features yet though, need to play around on it more.

the music mixing stuff is a little indimidating to me. maybe it's just because it's clunky, or because i haven't mastered it yet, or maybe a bit of both. for starters, i'd love to have a preview when i try to do crossfades.

As far as burning CDs, I like iTunes! I just picked up a laptop and haven't fully explored the Sonic it comes with but I really do like the LightScribe labeling, only thing is I gotta buy LightScribe compatible CD-Rs.

I use Nero and all I do is drag and drop which file (song) that I want to burn.

Just open the file where the album or list of songs are and those will show up and you just drag and drop them. But, you have to make sure that you're not selecting "copy cd", otherwise it will just start copying the disc you have in your drive.

I agree with anx, it takes a bit of effort to learn it, but once you do, it's the best burning program there is.

I use a different program to rip music from CDs called CDex, save the files to my system, and then select the ones I want when picking files in Nero. Probably the long way to go about it, but there it is. razz

I love Nero, prefer it to ITunes (you can edit the songs, do fades & shit - it's cool)...

Why would you wanna burn one song? confused I guess you could do what I did - I made a cd w/ the God Instrumental repeating 9 times giggle but I have no idea how you would burn a single track - is it telling you it can't or something?

Oh shit, are you talking about putting one song INTO your computer? Can't you just select that track & hit "burn" or whatever? I do individual tracks all the time confused
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

Ummm...people....please read the question and not make up one of your own smile

She asked, and I quote:

She's not asking how to burn, but how to rip/copy one song from a CD without copying the whole album to the computer smile

Oh... well, in that case I don't use Nero, so I don't know how you'd go about doing it that way. I use Windows Media Player and choose "copy" and it will then give you the list of songs from your CD. Choose the one you want to copy to your computer and click "okay" and it'll copy it to the file you selected.

If you ever figure out how to do it from Nero, let me know. It may be easier than using Windows Media Player.
