Do You Think Most People Enter Into Relationships... ...
Like this: Jumping right in without thought, letting the adrenaline high of new attraction dictate everything... Like this: Calculating, deliberate, analytical...entering into a relationship because it "makes sense", with each move made to guarantee against any unforeseen "checkmates"... Like this: Putting on costumes and playing roles, trying to figure out who you need to be and what you need to say in order to get the other person to fall in love with you... Like this: You throw enough darts, you're bound to hit the "bullseye" sooner or later...right??... Or like this: Finding a connection first, and letting the issue of having a relationship come second... What do you think motivates most of us to want to start a relationship??...

after my last one, I have come to accept that they are all useless.

Certainly for myself, in the past, it's been jumping in and being all excited for about six months. Then it turns to shit.
Thus, I've tried thinking in the past year of doing things because they make sense. Little in the world of love and relationships makes sense though. Damn your questions, Byron. Insatiable taught me everything I know about balls.

With my first relationship...i went in2 it like this:
Then i decided after it was over..i would be more like this and after a connection was found....i became more like this: i wanted 2 make sure that this time my heart wouldn't get broken...i was far more careful... and that paid off big time...

I think all these cases happen depending on who & when. I guess we wanna start relationships just cuz we humans ARE like this, wanting 2 b loved & all...
As far as i'm concerned, i've noticed that most (but not all) women started relationships quite on a defensive & suspicious mode, cuz lotsa men had behaved like shit with 'em. Like: "this guy seems 2 respect me so much: there's GOT 2 b a trap somewhere!". As 4 myself, it really depends, but i've always tried 2 b honest with the other & get her 2 b honest with me. I'm only human, though, & i sometimes played games in order 2 "figure out who you need to be and what you need to say in order to get the other person to fall in love with you". I'm more confident in myself now so i try not 2 anymore. I'm just at the beginning of a relationship right now & i'm really tryin' 2 find the right balance between being sweet & open 2 the other's difficulties & respecting myself by not accepting shit by fear of being left alone, which i used 2 do waaaay 2 much b4. I'll let u know

Or like this: Finding a connection first, and letting the issue of having a relationship come second... This is me 99.9% of the time. I get analytical after the fact. This was me when it came to getting married...
I wasn't worried about any possible "checkmates", but I did get married because it "made sense"... I was very logical and analytical about it, looking back...it was the "right thing to do", what I was "supposed" to do. My relationships since, though, have been like this... Which means there haven't been many...but I find it hard to be any other way, now...

Ex-Moderator | I've probably tried all of the above and none of them work.
I'm crap at relationships. Best to leave well enough alone. |
