IFC, the Independant Film Channel show Girl 6 a lot lately, so I had to see it again, especially for the topless scene at the beginning.

The Prince music is used quite well, except I would have used other songs. Spike Lee needs schooling on his songs.

The plot needs work; it fails a bit, probably because Lee didn't write the script. And, Lee needs to stop acting in his films. He really can't act.

Teresa Randal is an amazing looking woman with great acting skills, but she deserves better.

Spike Lee kills me.

This is a man who is very concerned with racism towards his own people, yet has presented Jewish stereotypes in one of his films (and defended his right to do so) and directed a Michael Jackson video with an anti-Semitic lyric. Can you say "hypocrite"? Motherfuck him and John Wayne.

Here's my take...

So, I finally saw this movie last night. I was amusing and enjoyable. I suppose the only thing I didn't care for was the soundtrack. SOme of it worked...much of it didn't. It was a bit too much to have words playing behind the scenes, yet had nothing to do with the scene or it distracted it. Spike should have asked P for instrumentals or something.

And what exactly did the end mean? SHe didn't seem to find her "bottom" even thought the monologue was good. And then she walks out to what is a Girl 6 premire...

I also found the phone relationships slightly confusing. Especailly the crazy guy who knows where she lives and all...I was expecting it to become a thriller.

and pretty much once the movie gets her to do Phone Sex it pretty much levels at that point.

I think Teresa Randal did a fantastic job. Considering she had 2 do fake orgasms, show her tits. I really enjoyed the movie, and of course they were playin' Prince music through the whole movie so that made it better. Spike's definitly worse work, I must say.

If spike was jewish, then could he of done a jewish stereotpye, because based on ur theory, then martin scorsese is to blame for stereotyping his own people by portraying italian americans as gangsters all the time.

I saw it once when it was released back in 96. I remember noticing that there was a short unreleased instrumental Prince track which was not on the Soundtrack album either. From what i remember it was a very Parade-like track with Eric on sax. Somebody knows what it is?

I loved seeing Madonna on screen with Prince music -- the Cross, yes? -- in the background. That made it worth the price of admission for me.
