Last month I've sent 65 application forms to different schools to find a job as a teacher. On Thursday, crossing the Portuguese-Spanish border, I received a call of a woman telling me they were looking for a Dutch/English teacher.

I told her I was on holiday and would be back on Friday-night. When I told her I was still available and looking for a job she said, "That's great, don't you worry about not being here right now, call me up on Monday and everything will be fine."

So I got up at 8 o'clock this morning to call his lady and someone else answered the phone. She told me none of the people I had to talk to were there, but she would ask them to call me back within an hour... At 2 o'clock still no phonecall

So I called again and the same lady said in a rude way "Can't you be more patient?? Besides, do you know this job is only for September??"



I said I would wait till they call me back, but it's 4 a.m. right now and they probably have gone home.

I can't be patient; schools are starting on Thursday and I would be sooooo happy if I had a job !!

I want to marry you, I could teach you dutch and you teach me flemish.....

Come to England! I'm always seeing jobs advertised where they need Dutch and English speakers (not teachers admittedly). We'd love to have you here!

Perhaps that school's not a good one to work for, if they're so rude. Maybe God is intervening in some way.

Update:

Since this afternoon, I do have a job at this school, a full-time job, teaching only Dutch. There are only two probs: 1. it's only for one month (or maybe longer, I'm replacing someone who's very ill)
2. I know since yesterday I suffer from a serious gastritis (see other post), which gives me horrible pains.

Staying home is no option, I need the money, and I need as well something to keep me busy, and I like to teach.

Anyway, I'm completely stressed out at the moment. I know since this afternoon I have to start tomorrow at 8.30 am and I don't have anything; no keys, no books and no health.
