Have you ever been hypnotised? What happened?!

Ever heard of self-hypnosis? Until i started watching "I can change your life" i had no idea that is exactly what I've done in the past

No, I never have. I would like to try it though, to help deal with my childhood.

My ex-husband is a hypnotherapist.

My high school german teacher was a licensed hypo-therapist. Every year she would teach a segment on hypotism (auf Deutsch!) then would spend a few days hypotizing my fellow students. It worked on a few of my friends, and my little sister. I volunteered but it didn't work on me. She would do age regression and past lives, mostly. It was amazing to watch.

Now I've seen on TV where a person is hypnotized, and whatever the hypnotist tell them to do, they do it with no questions or resistance. Someone is filming the hypnotized person doing the silly things, and they are shown the tape after they are brought out of the hypnosis. Pretty freaky stuff.

I tried but he couldnt get me under.
It was a hypnotist night that all went wrong.He only managed to get about 2 people under but they came out of it half way through.
I bought a cd-rom on hypnotics from e-bay and vowed that i would become a famous hypnotist but its really hard to get volunteers to practice on.

Yes I have. I go under easily, I've found.

I've been to see a couple of hypnotist shows and will never go alone in case I get dragged up on stage and humiliated I find myself going under when I'm in the audience but always manage to pull myself back into reality.

All that happens when you're hypnotised is that you're in a very relaxed state. You are aware of what's being said unless the hypnotherapist tells you to forget something. I remember one session hearing "you will not remember this" or words to that effect and I wracked my brains thoughout the rest of the session trying to remember what he'd said. When I'd opened my eyes and asked him he said "well, that's for me to know". I still have no idea what he'd said, but he was very helpful to me so it must've worked.

The other thing is that they can get your body to do things you're not really aware of. He also got me to lift my little finger and when I woke up, my finger was sticking up.

I found hypnotherapy helpful. I find hypnostist shows amusing, but I don't really like the idea of humiliating people. If they're volunteers, I'm fine with it but if they get dragged onstage and haven't volunteered, I feel sorry for them because I'm thinking "I might've been that woman!"

I believe that hynosis can be a very effective and powerful tool, but it does not work for everyone

It was very successful and he quit smoking immediately.
