Do you have a best friend ?

Why are they your best friend?

What experience did you have with them that made them a best friend?

yes i do. she is my bestfriend because she accepts all of my faults as they are and still when i need her in times of trouble-she is always there no matter what spat we've had. lately she has really been a true friend when i needed her.

I have a best friend. We met in junior high. We have done almost everything together throughout the years. He's awesome. I've known him for 24 years or so. I came out to him before he came out to me in high school. I knew it all along.

Second day of 8th grade, I just moved to Florida. I didn’t dress out for PE, cause fuck that shit, and Lenny Marino was in trouble for fucking off. So there we sat, two northeast Italian kids.

“What’s up?”
“Nothing, I just moved here, this state fucking sucks”
“Tell me about it”

We eventually started talking about New York, New Jersey, the Yankees, rednecks, Italian families……………

Been best friends ever since. That was in 88. I’d do anything for this asshole, and I know he would do the same in return.

Jen is my best friend, this is her with her youngest daughter. She's my best friend because we've known each other since the age of 10, she and her family took care of me when my parents drank and cranked, I lived there at times. I took care of her when her first dog Boomer got run over by a car. I love her, she loves me. When she was in London when we were like 13 she sent me 12 diff postcards with Prince on them. heart

Teddy is my best friend too. He and I have known each other since I was 6 and he was 5, we're still in touch. I was in love with him from 6 to 14, then we became a couple. He went to a posh boarding school in Switzerland so we broke up, then he went on to college in the US, UPenn. Through it all we kept in touch, he and I went to the first London Prince party together... I converted him mr.green heart

He would want to hang out at the parking lots of the gay bars with me. We couldn't get in because of our age. There was nowhere for teens to hang out, if you were gay. I would ask him where he wanted to go. He would say "I don't care, you're driving."

He finally confessed his undieing love for a guy by the name of Elvis. He was in one of his classes. The night he came out to me we talked on the phone from 9pm until 4am. It was crazy.

If I don't count my ex-husband, or my mom, I'd have to say my ex-boyfriend.

He listens to me, I listen to him. We don't judge one another and we don't question anothers actions or thoughts. We each do our own thing, we each call one another when times are rough, or when times are good. We laugh, we cry, we offer a shoulder, if needed.

The funny thing is, we hated one another while we dated! He was a player, I used him as my rebound. Bad situation all around. But, after a few months of cool down time, we work. As friends. Best friends.

Yes I do. I had two best friends in the UK, both who I'd known from when I was around 7 or 8 years old. I say 'had' not because I don't consider them friends anymore but it's hard to be best friends when you're thousands of miles away and they don't keep in contact. sad One is very busy in Russia working for Reuters though, and e-mails from time to time, but the other seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet, which is a great shame. In fact, I'm not in daily contact with any of my friends from the UK, but there's not much I can do about that as people have their lives to live, as I do mine, and the longer I stay out here so far away the harder it is to maintain friendships.

Here in Thailand, the person you could say is now my best friend is a 38 year old Aussie guy. An unlikely friend perhaps for a 24 year old, but it's a remarkable (and somewhat perverse, you may think) story. He is my wife's ex-husband, and after they split he ended up marrying her sister, so he's my brother in-law, my wife's ex-husband, and my best friend. Should all the history bother me? It never did, simply because of his intentions in marrying my now wife. He never loved her fully and completely, but cared for her deeply and met her very soon after coming here. He wanted to take care of her but their personalities clashed terribly and he realised his love for her wasn't of the kind he had first thought, that is was more about care and pity and wanted to do the right thing by helping someone. We're thick as thieves now and I know and appreciate that he still loves and cares for her in an honorable way, and that circumstances turned out for the best for all concerned. These days I truly think of him as a brother rather than a best friend.

My 20's was a period of time where I had a best friend every year. I mean, our friendships were so deep that I'd say we'd share blood if we could.

We'd always had a saying that tickles me till this day, "BROS BEFORE HO'S"

But in my thirties, I don't have any best friends. Most of my friends are slowly killing themselves in unhappy marriages, and don't have time for me. shrug

Yes. My best friends have been known me for years. I pretty much can be candid and frank with them and their like family. No matter what happens in our life, we always got each others back despite living a distant from each other. We have similiar careers.
