I use brighthouses version, same thing.....no problems at all. It's a good deal now, specially if you need to use it to call sammi in canada, go for it.

Yes I use it and I highly recommend it. It has never given me any problems(knock on wood). That unlimited long distance throughout the US and Canada really comes in handy. I heard that Lingo was a little better, you should check it out as well. As far as what Vonage is like, it works just like a traditional phone. Dial tone, call waiting, caller ID, voicemail, etc. You also have the ability to check your call log on their website, forward your calls to another number thru the site and to listen to your voicemails on the phone or on the comptuer. They typically email you whenever someone leaves a voicemail so you will be able to check your messages on your work computer as well. As far as the set up, you plug your dsl or cable modem to the router, the phone and computer to the router and it deciphers the info to each. It's very simple to use. My only recommendation would be to order the wireless Vonage router because it will give you more freedom. I also recommend a portable phone that has two receivers then you will have more flexibility, its always good to have a phone charged that is not near a computer. I have their unlimited plan, flat rate $28 bucks a month(U.S.) after tax and there are no hidden fees. There is no paper bill, they charge your credit card monthly and email you when the payment has been processed. I think I covered everything... I hope this helps. [Edited 8/25/05 17:59pm]

I called to get some info & the chick spent 5+ minutes talking about the problems calling 911 I had to boot that broad off the phone When I can tolerate that lecture I may consider it again, I pay too much via the phone company

I mostly like mine, but have occassional quality issues. But I have an old linksys router and I think that might be part of the problem. When I'm uploading something (like a bittorrent), the call gets wonky.
