Once, during a psychology lecture, the class was asked to participate in a simple experiment. The lecturer gave us a particular situation to imagine ourselves in and a list of possible outcomes to deal with and resolve the scenario.
After we had all decided which method we would each personally adopt, the lecturer went on to explain what each choice reveals about the individual. He would ask "who chose answer one?" - a group of people would place there hand in the air etc... etc... it got to option number 5 and, again, people who chose this option were asked to reveal themselves. I had selected this option as my choice. I glanced around the room and nobody else in a class of over 100 people put there hand up. I decided not to reveal myself as the only one to have made this selection The lecturer went on to explain that people who chose option 5 tend to believe themselves to be 'god-like' or above overs! I thought, if this was the case then why wouldnt i dare put my hand up if i believe im superior?! | |
