6 weeks eh? Then it'll need some special nourishment, that's at least 2 weeks earlier than you should take them from their mother. If you can, bring it back to the mother and pick her up again in 2 weeks. Seriously.
People need to know what the hell they're doing before getting a pet [Edited 8/23/05 14:49pm]

I had a cat when I was a kid that we got at 5 weeks old because it's mother had been run over by a car. The cat was very small when we got it and very sick, but we took it to the vet lots and the cat lived until I was in my early twenties. If you take care of your cat, which it seems you will, and take it to the vet often I'm sure it will be ok. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

When the kittens aren't ready to be weened and on solid food (which as you noticed is quite a bit earlier than your family took it in), then they won't develop as they should cos they can't take in the nutrients in their food. But if you take it to the vet you can get vitamin shots and special kitten milk to feed it and it'll be just fine. You did something very good Sweeny

Yeah, I'm thinking the woman breeds money. If you didn't pay much for your kitten, then it was all for show. She should know better. The kitten doesn't look like a purebred though. Ask a vet if you doubt me. Kittens age the same in Europe as they do in the rest of the world.

I'm not actually asking you any questions here or interested in what you have to say..i did not pay for the kitten, you always have someone or something to complain about...thanks for taking the joy out of my kitten... I don't have much faith in bredders either though... I've had cats and dogs from bredders that turned out to be sickly and in the case of the dog, just not right in the head. The dog and two cats we had from bredders ended up having to be put down. so all I can say is find a vet you trust, and while Teacher maybe a little aggressive in her wording, what she is saying does hold value. But again, I'm sure with the right care your adorable little friend will be with you for years and years to come! In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |
