I am soooo looking forward to this! It's a 75 minute long finale? Someone mentioned to me that Maggie "looked pregnant"--will she be pregnant with Nate's baby? Where is Claire headed to? She sold her car and got on the bus... David needs to get some help and get a grip, or I could see Keith and the kids leaving him. It's looking like Ruth and George will get back together. Will Brenda's baby be born with or without birth defects? Will Maya stay with Ruth and George or Brenda?

I share your pain. I have been a fan since episode one of season one and its killing me that their illustrious run is coming to its end tonight. Six Feet Under is arguably the greatest show in the history of television and its only fitting that they will go out on top. It will be sorely missed.

Same here, I was hooked at the very first episode and haven't missed one since. I guess it is better to go out on top... I will miss it very much also!

What a beautiful ending to a beautiful series.
All the loose ends were neatly, but believably, tied up, and the epilogue was just gorgeous. I actually had to fight back tears (not a word, Imago Bravo to Alan Ball. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Great ending...amazingly tied up after some real serious meandering the last couple of seasons. I can't believe it is over.
I wish Alan Ball would have directed more episodes. All good things they say never last...

I'm going to echo the sentiments already expressed in this thread about last night's series finale. I thought it was extremely well done and though it was tied up nicely the ending was true to life. I love how Alan Ball showed the end that each character would ultimately face(like the end that will find all of us at some point). Six Feet Under was so true to life and moving. It was so poignant because the family did not exist in a vaccum. The show reflected the dealings of society and placed them within the context of the character's lives in a thoughtful and realistic way. Last night's ending was a culmination of a 5 year experience that has really impacted my life. I am so pleased that I was able to enjoy this show its entire duration and I was moved to tears while Claire drove away. Alan Ball is a genius and he created a show for the ages.

Didn't the finale sort of suprise y'all in a way, too?...
All the while I thought if I was moved at all, it'd be out of sadness for the passing of a love affair with the show. But I held myself together perfectly fine for the entire first 60 minutes. The last 15 minutes just sucker punched me, though. What finally made me tear up was not at all a pining for the past, but a really deep and unexpected inspiration for the future! What a subtle gift Alan Ball gave us!! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

They never say!! thanks to the EW comments section, I was reminded that Maggie was a pharmaceutical rep and prolly in and out of many clinics that combined with the lack of mention of additional grandkids in Ruth's obit makes me think she was NOT preggers...
