two hotel ideas:
Ramada Inn Downtown Minneapolis This is not posh by any means (it's a Ramada!) but it's functional, affordable and SUPER conveniently located. It's a block from main bus lines, 4 or 5 from the light rail and just down the road from First Ave. Expedia has rooms listed for this weekend for $99 a nite. Weirdly the Ramada site has no rooms listed as available for this weekend. But, we saw the same issue last year and the rooms booked through Expedia went through just fine... Residence Inn Minneapolis at The Depot by Marriott More pricey but NOT obscene. It's on the edge of downtown so a TITCH less convenient but in a nice little area (right off the river).

Thanks Endo, and Eskimokisses you are not cheap. I totally agree. It's so damn expensive just to go and sleep for 5 hours. FYI- if you are not renting a car, I highly recommend staying in Mpls proper as public transport is not the best in the 'burbs. The Days Inn University would be fine if you couldn't get an affordable room IN downtown...

Staying downtown Mpls is the only place to stay unless you'll be driving. |
