If you own a cat you MUST purchase it one of these...

I have purchased one for 3 different cats and they have all just completely freaked out and loved it. Apparantly cats have really itchy faces so they love having the ability to rub their faces against the metal brush parts to relieve themselves.

I just got one for Ferg (the cat I'm housesitting at my house) and he is completely obsessed with it. He is constantly scratching his back or his face and he is so nuts about it that he even sleeps on it instead of with me which is a little sad for me.

Here is a picture smile

They are like $14 bucks at Walmart and in my experience it will be priceless compared to the love your cat will have for it.

sigh Cats have really itchy faces? Puhlease rolleyes :stupid:

They have scent glands to mark territory with, and some of these glands are in the cat's face, so that's why it rubs against things. Don't worry, you won't feel any smell though.

All you gotta do is study them in their natural habitats - both wild cats and wild dogs/wolves are territorial. Hell most animals period are territorial, including humans.

Reincarnate

I haven't seen them over here, and I don't own a cat ... but my cousins all do and if I saw those things I'd definately buy them for them, as from what you're saying they'd love them.

This post just proves how "stupid" you are. Their is a big difference between the way the cats mark their territory with their faces and the way they scratch their faces against this metal toy. Yes the cats rub against things to mark territory and then they walk up to this device to scratch their faces.. For you to suggest that cats don't get itchy is pretty funny because you never see a cat take it's paw and scratch itself rolleyes

Sorry you aren't quite the expert that you think you are. You can go back to being depressed and bitchy now.

I love his face. To me it looks like he is always surprised. He is a very expensive breed of cat.

yes..my cat does mark her territory but she aslo has a very itchy face so much that she will find anything to scratch it..my fingernails, a nail file laying around, corners of counters, corners of books. I seriously doubt she is trying to leave her scent on a nail file.rolleyes

Well ,they do. Of course it feels good to be scratched too, like for us to itch a scratch. It does stimulate the glands though, that's just the way it happens. It's a good thing that leads to another good thing, for the cat I mean.

Cleaning the stomach up, all cats get discarded fur down their bellies when they wash. Then some will eat grass and some not, and they regurgitate the fur. Presto, clean stomach! I prefer to just not eat fur, but I'm not a cat. Some of the human-bred breeds like the Holy Birma has problems with their fur though, it's so wispy that it piles up fast and they have a regurgitation problem. It's not nice but there are foods that contain a substance that helps capsule it in the feces and it comes out the kitchen door instead of the attic. thumbs up!

Cute cat! Is that a Scottish Fold? Just wondering because he has those cute little folded ears that a Fold is known for.

I've seen the item pictured in the store, but haven't bought it. I'm seriously thinking of it, since I own 3 cats, and they would undoubtedly love it! smile

This is probably a stupid question, but is this brush thingy called anything in particular? I mean, what would I ask for when I go to the pet shop, or should I just look around for it?

Just looked this item up online. According to the PetSmart website, the item listed above is called a "cat hair magnet".

That looks so fucked up. To have your kitty all the time wrapped in that thing. "See I have this cool cat? It never leaves its cat magnet."

I think they sell masturbation aids for female dogs too somewhere..
