I suppose you think you're being clever. But it's apparent you just don't get it. I can't speak for anyone but myself. But "sexy" is SO much more than how much weight someone is carrying around. I've dated large men before, I've dated men of all shapes and sizes and varying degrees of what other might find 'good-looking' and found them all to be incredibly attractive. I wouldn't have dated them otherwise. As for the pure aesthetic - personality, intelligence, humour, kindness, et al. aside - there are plenty of men who are larger who carry themselves well, have a sense of style, know how to take care of themselves (yes, I realize you'll say they're not but that's BS). All of that is part of just the visual effect and one "flaw" isn't gonna automatically make someone unattractive aesthetically.

But, I'll post some pics...what the hey And what is this hypocrasy in which u speak? [Edited 8/17/05 18:12pm] I'm not speaking "in" any hypocrasy...but, I think you are trying to prove that the "fat acceptance movement folks" on the other thread are all about accepting overweight women, but don't find overweight men attractive.

Ex-Moderator | Let's make a list of fat celebrites and judge whether they are sexy or not.
Hey! It'll be fun! John Candy - mildy funny, but not sexy John Belushi - very funny, a bit attractive Jack Black - hilarious, sexy most of the time, sometimes just an ass Who else can we think of?? |

We must have similar tastes Although, I didn't see anything about Orson Welles in his post Stop moving in on my play!

Interesting choice of words: "militia", "movement".
You sound as if you feel like you're fighting something, Dreamfactory, or that someone is out to get you? Which reminds me, has anyone been watching "Starved" on the F/X Channel? It's NOT a reality show, it's a sitcom featuring a support group for people with eating disorders.....it's got some really dark, great humor.

Im just trying to show a contridiction between what some people in this movement think about the different sexes. Im calling a Spade a Spade. This shouldnt change your feelings about the matter one way or another. U are not under attack here. Thats not my intension.

Its a metaphor for those apart of this movement who are aggressively preddling it and they are extremely aggressive. Really? "Extremely aggressive"? What in the world are they doing to you? Or do you think perhaps you're a little overly sensitive--dare I say obsessed --about this issue because you work in the fitness industry? I have a feeling most people aren't accosted by anyone and forced to "accept" anything. Just to treat them like a human being.

I can surely find people unattractive. In fact there are plenty of incredibly fit people I find incredibly UNattractive. Just like there are fat people I find unattractive. but that's not the only deciding factor of sexy. And when they start beauty pagents for men, I'll be sure to call in the fat brigade. A whole nother topic to think about... |
