I am so bummed. I just got layed off! I am sitting here going on Monster.com posting my resume...I just needed to take a break and vent and check out what my Prince buds are up to. I need some hugs.

Thanks! I am going through a little bit of denial at the moment. I can't believe it happened. Everything was going well...then WHAM! (not the group) they said they didn't have room for me. I have been with this company for 7 years. Sucks big time.

Now, in the meantime, I know you need cash. I hope you don't think waitressing, bartending, store clerking at the mall, substitute teaching (they take anybody) etc is beneath you. Because those are the types of jobs that can give you some survival money while you're looking to get your life in order. Hopefully family members will keep you afloat.

Don't forget trying to make money on eBay. Buy low, sell high. Shed some stuff in the garage. Don't forget telling all your family and friends to hook you up with opportunities.

You can make it You are not your job. People are successful because of the type of people they are. So, don't let the best of yourself be eroded by panic and pity. You can get another job. Hold on to your belief in yourself.

This is always my philosophy ... and yes I've been without a job before. ...

It's always a bit of a shock when something like this happens. Keep your head up and come here for plenty of 's when you need to.
