Is it true...??? that if you play burned cds in your car, that is if you have a cd changer, that the burned cds can cause the cd changer in your car to mess up??? My mom's cd changer (the factory radio and 6 cd in dash changer) in her car no longer plays and won't eject none of the cds in deck out. The guy at the dealership said that if she had cd's that had burned music on them, then she would be responsible for the repair because that wouldn't be covered by the warranty, on the grounds that if would be her fault.
Have you guys heard this before, the burned music on blank cds will damage your cd changer in your car? I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

i think that the whole thing is dumb, and that they are just using it as an excuse for them to get paid the whole entire amount of money it costs to repair it. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

THere is no difference between what you get in the store and what you burn yourself as far as the CD player is concerned. People sometimes buy substandard CDs to burn to, but normally if you buy Maxell or Sony blank CDs, they're of better quality than the stuff you'd buy in the music store. They're not telling you the truth.

If she put a label on the cd they may have a case. They peel all the time and can cause damage.

the labels are fine if you take care of them and keep them in their cases and out of extra hot/cold elements and whatnot.

what, isn't everyone as anal retentive about their CDs as i am??? I'm the reason they invented Disc Doctor... no matter how messy my apartment gets, there's a serene little oasis shimmering in my living room, where all my CDs live, nice and organized and alphabetized and filed away. there might be rats fighting with the cockroaches over the moldy month-old spaghetti in the kitchen sink, but my music collection is always pristine! i've got my priorities in check! i might even buy a velvet scansion to keep casual onlookers at a distance from my precious collection!
