Shalimar the Clown - Salman Rushdie

snowflake

not available in the english speaking world till
a month from now....I've got a Dutch copy!!

woot!

The new Salman Rushdie novel has hit Dutch shelves
yesterday! I got my copy this morning and have had
to control myself to the most hanous extremes just
to finish my work and leave it on the desk.

But now I've started reading it! And it's great!!!
His books are always a treat but this one has many
signs of absolute greatness.

I can tell that I'll be finishing it tonight even
if it takes staying up till the early hours.

At 421 pages it's a good read to be sure, enough
breath to tell an enveloping story yet not so long
as to wind up boring and surplus.

Although I don't think that's possible in a Rushdie
novel. "The Moor's Last Sigh" could have easily been
another 300 pages longer and I'd have licked it all
from the pages.

absolute majesty.

now if you'll excuse me, I have a date for the night

biggrin

it's very up to date centering mainly about terrorism
and about how a shy normal boy becomes a terrorist in
today's society.

It's about a clown who constantly sings "Dancing in the Sheets"
