My House is Destroyed...

I had to watch my friend's 5 yr old, 3 yr old, and 14 month old last night as her sister brought her own crumb snatcher into the world.

My house is totally destroyed...and I don't want to clean it.

When you become a parent do you automatically just stop needing rest and me time and go into auto pilot?

Those kids were OFF THE CAHIN!

I don't know the answer to your question, but since you don't want to clean up the mess I suggest you don't have any children. lol

HA HA!! You are funny! I'll clean up that damn mess when I get home form work this evening. smile

But I think you may have answered my question. The 14 month old kept on giving me these "you have no clue what you are doing" looks all night.

with kids, you'll get that lol. I know what u mean but, when it is your child u actually have control over it. For instance, I have a six yr old son who is never destructive. He has his accidents now and again but that's ok. I taught him not to treat our home (or others) that way. My niece and nephew on the other hand I have to watch like a hawk! If left for two seconds they will trash the place. There is a lot of give and take in child rearing but when they are yours, u get to make the rules.

Actually, I don't babysit for people who don't agree with the way I discipline (omg sp?). No guilt! But what I really meant was that u are the one raising them and u can influence the way they behave. (The part in red)

omfg When reading the title to this thread, I thought you were going to say that your house got destroyed in a fire! boxed Thank God that didn't happen, but yeah, I know what you mean. Kids can be totally out of control these days! disbelief

Yeah well, they don't pop in often. Had I had their bathing suits I'd have taken their asses to the pool and wore them out.

lol There ya go, that's the perfect solution! Get the kids swimming and running around in the hot sun, that will tire them out pretty fast.

It's funny, but it seems you do get used to being tired. Autopilot is needed every other day, when you don't have the energy to get out and do fun things with them and all you can do is prevent them from doing what they are not allowed to do, which is an exhausting task in itself. I am so looking forwards to a rest (in my grave, no doubt), but not yet, don't want to miss a minute!

The kids' mom is also my running partner (we're training for another half marathon) and now I totally understand why she is gung ho about getting her runs in. Being with them bad ass kids all day I'd be ready to run distances too. It's her only time to herself. She's so gangsta with it. If I slow down or even try to walk, here comes shorty with her hand to my back pushing me. She's a trip.

That's cool. I haven't gotten into running yet (just started to jog actually)but, when I go to the gym, it is total 'me' time. If I need it with one kid I can only imagine how it would be with three.
