Gary Busey is...Gingerdead Man

You couldn't even parody a better title and star than this! falloff The only thing better than really good horror is really bad horror. Gingerdead Man, I'm guessing, falls in the latter category and is going directly to my must-see list! Scroll down for the DVD artwork. From Fangoria:

Here’s a look at the DVD cover for THE GINGERDEAD MAN, the Charles Band-produced/directed film that arrives from Wizard Entertainment November 24. The film, whose script is now credited to Silvia St. Croix and August White, features a walking, talking, murdering cookie monster created by John Carl Buechler and MMI, and voiced by Gary Busey, who also appears as Millard Findlemeyer, a maniac who murders every member of the Leigh family except daughter Sara (get it?). After her testimony leads Millard to be executed in the electric chair, his mother mixes his ashes into a special dough that winds up at Sara’s bakery; all it takes is one of the workers bleeding into the mix to spawn the deadly title character. Disc extras, if any, have yet to be announced; you can see the trailer at the Wizard site linked [below].

Meanwhile, in an interview over at Retro Slashers, Band confirms that he has more entries in some of his most popular franchises on the way. “In terms of sequels to my older films, I’d like to revitalize Dollman,“ Band tells the site. “He’s the perfect guy at the perfect height to fight some of these new and not-so-new 12-inch dolls and creatures and puppets. So DOLLMAN for sure and SUBSPECIES for sure. That one is tricky because it’s an expensive canvas and you can’t shoot that in LA, but it’s a wonderful show. We have a great script for the next SUBSPECIES, which will be the fifth. That’s one of the exceptions where Nicolaou will direct and I’ll produce and he and I will sort of co-create it. That will be my exception to directing everything.“ Click on the link above for the complete interview. —Michael Gingold

While you're at it, you absolutely must check out the horrendous trailer ("Eat me, you punk bitch!). November 24 cannot get here soon enough!

if they didn't make money they wouldn't keep making them.

I managed a video store for 5 years, and these crap b-title horror movies are always big renters, it really makes you question the intelligent of the average person. Then, they have the nerve to complain about the actual quality films!!!! I'm sorry, but if you can sit through "Blood Gnome" and enjoy it, you need to shut the hell up about "Donnie Darko" not making any sense.

confused I like crap b horror and I like movies like Donnie Darko. There's room for both. And there's certainly room for Gingerdead Man.

I understand where you are coming from, but I think, for the majority of us, the cheese factor is what makes a movie like this appealing. Sure, it's a dumb concept, but I'd rather watch a deliberately stupid flick like this than a lame-o Hollywood produced crap-fest like the Amytiville Horror remake.

This movie sounds HILARIOUS, and I would love to check it out! Gary Busey as a mass-murdering cookie? GENIUS, I TELL YOU!!!

Oh, and I LOVED Donnie Darko, for the record!

oh, i understand people who watch them because their cheesy, i do it as well sometimes, but there are alot of people out there, and I mean alot more then you would ever imagine who watch a movie like this because they think it's a good movie. they watch it and actually believe that it's Good, not "so bad it's good" but actually good. It's scary really. smile

and then, theres the priest that used to rent soft-core Euro-porn all the time, he was scary too. smile

the video store guy knows all your secrets. there was a high school teacher i knew who used to rent movies about young girls discovering their sexuality, like "Ripe" and "The Lover"

We were supposed to read the title of the movie out loud and say the due date when checking the person out, but i ended up only doing that when the customer rented Porn, it was funnier that way. smilesmile

My husband and I had a friend that LOVED this type of cheesy "b-movie". He was so bad that we got to the point that we NEVER let him go to the video store and pick the movies we were going to get together and watch. To this day, if we run across a movie like this on tv we say "Oh, this is a "Dave" movie." and move on.

lol AWESOME!! I have a friend who used to go to a video store that another friend of ours worked at, and he would always go into the porn section in the back and read all the titles as loudly as he could. You'd be sitting there, reading the back of a box, when all of a sudden you'd hear "hey! Alright! They've got 'When Harry Ate Sally'!" or "Oh man, I've been wanting to see this one! 'Fuck My Cunt, Then Cum On My Face Part VI'!!!". Needless to say, he always managed to clear the store out!
