This occurred to me when I saw Byron's picture thread from the invasion day 2, whether we feel bothered by people because of what we do, if people are constantly talking about it, or expecting things... like...

Byron, do you feel that people are always talking to you about photography, either showing their own crap pics or asking for advice?

Ariel, do people always wanna tell you what they've done musicly or ask you for advice?

I don't feel bothered in the least when people ask me about dogs, cats or horses, I'm glad to help if I can. What DOES bother me is when people act like it's a competition, going "my dog does this and this, can your dog do that?"



There are many more examples, I just took the three that popped into my head. Do you like it that people talk about your profession or do you feel "JUST GO AWAY DAMMIT!!" ? Discuss please

Yes. It's a blessing, though, more so than an annoyance. People constantly asking you to write, lead, speak, chair, etc. It's a blessing. Saying "no" proves the biggest challenge. Because there's still a need there, but, very often, the person asking needs to understand others are able to pitch in and fulfill that role admirably.

One more time: But, it's a blessing.

anyone who's fairly good at computers, building websites, etc. will always get bugged by friends and friends-of-friends... sometimes getting a call from someone you don't even know, "Yeah, I heard you were good at computers, and I was wondering if you could come over and..." i've had to say "no" many times.

I majored in creative writing so people are always asking me to read their stuff to tell them if it's any good. Most of the time it's not and I am not a tactful person so it makes me uncomfortable. Besides, what is considered "good" is completely objective. What I might find as shitty somebody else will gladly eat up with a spoon.

And like ThreadBare says, it's more of a blessing than a curse, I like it when people really want to hear what I have to say on a matter.

I get pressured 2 write poetry in greeting cardz for family sometimez. It getz 2 da point where i feel a bit embarrassed. Am i really a walkin talkin hallmark card?

Other than that- i do get asked about stuff from time 2 time on music, writing- more often than not i get asked 2 sing at partiez like a must-have novelty- which i dont mind- itz funny and i enjoy it anywayz. Especially after i've had a few :drinking:
My family designated me the host of my nana'z 80th birthday cause of my experience on radio ...I made it dat so da focus wasnt on me presenting (as i was also singing too!) cause this wasnt Missy'z family talk show- it was my nanaz special day. I was honored 2 do it though.
