Oh my god I feel like a ball of clay! I've never been to a spa. After the last three weeks, I needed to pamper myself. I can't suffer "caregiver burnout!" I've been carrying a lot of tension between my shoulder blades and in my neck so I had a massage. The massage therapist was amazing! She was a big'o'girl and she put her might into it! Ya know, I've had plenty of "fuck me" massages before but NOTHING like this! I had about 8 knots and, man, she worked them out! It was intense, but sooo good to me! I'll be seeing her monthly- if not more. I also had a "Stress Relief" facial. This included a deep cleansing facial and a facial muscles massage. Incredible! Then I had a "Stress Relief" pedicure. I've all ways done my own pedicures. Well... that's over as of today! The technician did the best pedicure I've ever had! She also massaged my legs and feet. She then covered my feet with a peppermint mask and wrapped my feet with hot towels. It felt sooo good! I spent $140 plus $30 in tips and it's the best $170 I've ever spent! The massage was only $30! I may see her once a week! I also went to the tanning bed and laid in the super bed for 15 mins. I know it isn't good for you, but those supper beds feel like the sunshine and that felt so good.






...then I came home and dropped a brand new, just bought, never openned bottle of vermouth (no Manhattans tonight!) on our granite kicthen floor! Needless to say it shatter to a million pieces! Oh well... Fuck it!

my sweetie took us to the spa a few weeks ago for our one-year anniversary. it was nice - i'd never gotten a professional massage or a facial before - but we were both a little let down by how "gentle" everything was. i wanted helga with the big man-muscled arms and hairy legs and braided blonde princess leia hair buns to give me a rough manly massage that would turn my bones to rubber, but instead it was very gentle and feather-touchy and light. it was nice, but we've been to yoga classes that have rocked our worlds harder. i think the trick is not to go to a spa that mainly women go to. we're looking for another place that might be a little more bonecrushing.

yes don't you love the spa!!! i get my eyebrows done and pedicures done regularly. Everytime I walk in their, if i feel stressed, i always feel so much lighter by the time i leave. Its just the atmosphere and the soothing smell of botanicals that get me. I want to spend the day their for my birthday next month, but i've been trying to save money, so I don't know if it will fly or not...

You know, pampering experiences like this I wouldn't have done a year ago, but since I've started indulging myself... and you're right. It is damn wonderful. Every cent that is spent is well-worth that jelly-feeling you leave a place like that with.

Hell, I'm even happy after I get a manicure and pedicure from that simple leg-rub the little Cambodian guy gives me.
