for example...a friend knowing you don't have the spare cash to buy phone cards so goes and puts a load of money on one for you  THAT'S someone who's there for you | |

And as you get older you start to understand these changes help you lower your expectations and prepare you for an eventual death, which will bring to an end to all of the missed opportunities and could-have-beens. | |

I expected this thread to be about people who aren't there for you, but you talk about people who are. honestly...it DID start out that way yes  I was upset about a handful of friends (and some family) at home some of whom never bothered to contact me let alone see me before I left... but then I was reminded of what I DO have and how incredibly lucky I am
but it did start off as a very self absorbed thread I'm sorry to say
