Doe a Deer

This morning on my way back from the schools ...

i saw standing in the rain/fog right in front of me ( about 15 feet ) in the middle of our road a pair of deer

a doe and a 6 point buck in full velvet biggrin

and because of my shamanic training i have to honor the animal energy when it comes to me

so ... here is to the Deer

Message Animal Totem usually is bringing you a self growth, spiritual message, or a cautionary warning. It is often a wake up call or slap in the face. It will usually be a very unusual experience making it very powerful at that time and very impartial. A Message Totem is a brief period of time, a day, a week, and occasionally as much as a couple of months but can be immediate for just a few hours. Sometimes a Message totem is not bringing you a message but causing a delay in your life. This delay, such as when you are trying to leave to go somewhere, is often in assistance for you; to be sure you are not in a place at a certain time so that you avoid an accident or can catch a phone call or meet someone you are supposed to run into.

If the deer has come to you as your totem animal or if you have felt drawn to
the animal through a dream or a vision, your spirit self is now in the company
of one who has long been cherished as an intermediary between the Great
Mystery and humankind. With the deer as your totem, you will feel an acceleration
of your powers of intuition. Many Shamans attribute the greatest psychic
sensitivity to the Deer People.

With the deer as your spirit helper, you will find that you have an increased
desire to spend more time in the Silence and in nature. You will also notice
that your dreams have become more enriched. Among the lore of some native
tribes is a regard for the deer as the Lord of the Dream. To focus on the deer
before falling asleep, according to some, will bring prophetic dreams that may
be shared for the good of your family and/or your community.

I've been seeing a lot of deer lately! woot! I saw the cutest little bambi look alike Saturday, then I looked up the hill a bit and there was 4 or 5 deer juststanding there. mushy

Here's some photos I took last week, they are a little blurry but I was happy that the deer let me get that close before bolting!

In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

i dont eat it

when the ancestors hunted and killed to survive they did so with great respect for the animal spirits and held rituals to honor and give thanx

in the old ways... animal totems and eating meat did rhyme

Oh , i assumed you eat meat 'cause you wrote you made venison stew ,
didn't notice you wrote 'years ago'

I still find it contradictory to believe in animal totem subject
and eat meat ,
How can you kill an animal you can have a spritual bond with ?sad
I know , i might think too extreme for some on the
subject of eating meat boxed

Sorry for changing the subject of your thread smilehug
