Gladiator was okay, the other two stunk, and none of them have anything to do with Music: Non-Prince

How about 'Which is the least worst movie?'

Alexander they say was horrible. I haven't seen it.
Gladiator was good but overrated. I actually liked Troy. It was good for what it was, an action flick. People think every movie set in the Greco-Roman era is supposed to be Spartacus or Julius Caesar redux. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

It wasn't Gladiator or Troy (saw those 2) so it's gotta be Alexander. Rosario Dawson nekkid (put this on the "to rent" list) I thought Gladiator was a decent flick. Especially enjoyed the score. Troy was weak. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm [Edited 8/4/05 13:10pm] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I really liked Gladiator. I didn't care for Troy....even Brad's naked ass couldn't save it. I have no desire to even see Alexander due to the awful reviews. Colin's Farrell's blond wig single handedly would ruin it for me. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

This is an interesting topic! I was talkin 2 someone the other day about how the Americans hate movies like these because they do not glorify america, they are not american history and the americans simply do not understand what they are about.
Amazingly, Alexander did fairly well in Europe but completely flopped in America. I thought it was an excellent movie with well thought out plotlines. Even more interestingly was the fact it highlighted how Alexander tried to unite Europe and Asia, with Babylon being the centre of the world. That guy was obviously onto something all those thousands of years ago because we're still no further forward today.

Troy and Gladiator were both box office hits in the US, and Gladiator won 5 Oscars (out of 12 nominations), so I really can't see where you're coming from. Alexander was just a colossal turd.

i think you'll find that Troy did not make the amount of money at the box office they expected it too, it was built up for months, with some ppl in hollywood saying it would be the biggest movie ever. It was one of the most expensive movies ever made and hardly broke even.
gladiator was only successful in america because it was all about brute strength and a tough guy image, and much less about actual european history.

No one goes to the movies for European history lessons, not even Europeans. Troy was underwhelming in its performance because it was, well - an underwhelming, mediocre film? For what it was, it did just fine. It just didn't meet wildly inflated expectations. Most event pictures do not. [Edited 8/4/05 15:39pm]

Troy isn't anyone's history - American, European or otherwise - because it is mythology. Alexander was an American movie by an American director and starring some American stars. Audiences and critics dismissed it as trash. Shakespeare in Love has nothing to do with the United States and it did very well here. The theory just doesn't work.

Theory sorta works for the slept on "kingdom of heaven", which is superb. Post 9/11, i think americans would rather see shit like xxx2 then something more thought provoking like "kingdom of heaven", which of course has some relevance to the iraq war. "kingdom of heaven" should be on the list here.
